Abstract:
The project aims at the research, development and practical issues of speech technologies for national security and defense. The partners of the project are The Technical University of Liberec (TUL), Brno University of Technology (BUT) and The University of West Bohemia (UWB). The project is structured in 4 tasks: Creation of data (2007), Keyword spotting (KWS-2008), speaker identification (SID-2009) and transcription of spontaneous speech (speech to text, S2T-2010). Demonstrators of the speech technologies are produced and the technologies are regularly evaluated in the research labs, as well as by the target users.

BUT research task:
BUT’s speech group played and still plays the key role in all tasks of the project. It coordinated the data collection and drafting of annotation manuals in previous years. This year the group develops algorithms and demonstrators for all covered domains: KWS, SID and S2T. BUT was designated as the coordinating site of the project for year 2010.
