Dr. Sageev Oore

Dalhousie University and Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence
Sageev Oore is a faculty member in Computer Science at Dalhousie University (Halifax, Canada), a Research Faculty Member at the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence (Toronto, Canada), and a Canada CIFAR AI Chair. Together with his students at Dalhousie and Vector Institute, he works on basic research in machine learning and deep learning, with particular interest in generative models for audio (with interest in both music and speech), computational creativity, and health. Recently he has been applying machine learning at the intersection of audio and health. In 2016-2018 Sageev was a Visiting Scientist in Google Brain (California), where he worked on the Magenta team developing generative music systems. He also works as a professional musician; as a pianist he has performed as soloist with orchestras both as a classical soloist and as an improviser.

Dr. Vinoo Alluri

International Institute of Information Technology-Hyderabad
Dr. Vinoo Alluri is an Assistant Professor at the Cognitive Science Lab at the International Institute of Information Technology-Hyderabad, India. She has a background in Electronics and Communication Engineering, after which she pursued a Masters in Music Engineering Technology at the University of Miami, and a Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. Her work is highly interdisciplinary involving music psychology, music information retrieval, and neuroscience. She also has some formal training in violin and piano. Currently she is working on projects that examine Music listening habits on online streaming platforms in relation to depression and personality traits, Music Representation in the brain, and Brain changes in Cocaine addiction.
